TYNE TEES TIGERS AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL CLUB
The Tyne Tees Tigers are the North East's only Australian Rules Football Club, and we're based at the grounds of the Gosforth Sports Association located on Broadway West (NE3 2NH) in Gosforth, Tyne & Wear.
We compete in the AFL Scotland Australian Rules Football League. We train and play our 'home' games at our base in Gosforth, and our 'away' games are played against clubs based in Edinburgh, Glasgow and nearby areas.
Our Club Training commences in mid January and takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Our Match Season usually commences in mid April and runs through until about late July.

OUR PEOPLE
We are a friendly and welcoming club made up of people of various ages, builds and backgrounds.
Some of us are expat 'Aussies' who've made the North East our home, some of us are 'born and bred' locals, and some of us are here attending university or on longer term work assignments.

Irrespective of our ages and backgrounds we all enjoy staying fit and active playing a game we love in a club environment that is friendly, upbeat and social.

'Aussie Rules' football is a fast paced team sport that is played by men and women of all builds and backgrounds, and that is why it is the most popular type of sport played in Australia.
​
Here at the Tigers our team typically includes a few 'Aussies' who've grown up with the game, some rugby and football folk who find 'Aussie Rules' to be a perfect way to stay fit during the off season of those other sports, and a general mixture of others who just want to have fun and get some exercise.
Most importantly though, all are welcome, and even though the Tigers only field a Men's Team for matches anyone age 16 or over is welcome to come along to training to develop a feel for the game. ​
